Trek to Machu Picchu September 2021

Hello!

My name is Ellie Alaisha and I am raising money for Action Against Hunger. I will be trekking Machu Picchu and the Amazon to fundraise for this charity! As well as this i will be hosting multiple quiz nights, bake sales, car boot sales and gig nights to raise as much as I can!

After an unexpected delay on my trip in 2020 and COVID-19 changing the way we all live, I have rescheduled my challenge of trekking to one of the Seven Wonders of the World, Machu Picchu until September 2021. I am doing this to help raise money for Action Against Hunger to support their lifesaving work in almost 50 countries, including in Peru itself.

I am really inspired by the work of Action Against Hunger. I created this page as I want to make a positive change. Please help me help them by giving whatever you can using the 'Give Now' button. SOME FACTS:

This charity is close to my heart. About 821 million people go to bed hungry every night, and one in three children in low- and middle-income countries suffers from chronic undernutrition. Nearly half of all child deaths worldwide are from causes related to undernutrition. These stats need to change. Malnutrition can cause both physical and mental stunts which can impact their whole future. COVID-19 has had a 20% mortality rate in countries such as Yemen. Action Against Hunger is combatting this by providing life saving treatments, installing hand washing stations and improving water supply.

I will be commencing on my 14 day trek in September 2021.

I will post a video blog of my experience on the trek to keep everyone updated. This is a big challenge for me. I hope I can receive a lot of support so together we can make an impact and take action against hunger.
